9th legion is a new milsim team in the ottawa area, and we are fairly small. We love to focus some of our time, in honing our craft and enjoy sharing our knowledge with others that are willing or wanting to learn. This is our first attempt at inviting other players and teams to join us in what/how we do things. MISSION:
9th Legion will be hosting a training day to teach navigation, communications and patrolling in a MilSim environment. Purpose is to develop and/or improve foundational knowledge and skills for operators/Players to participate and be successful in future MilSim games/ops/events.

EXECUTION:
1. Time: Arrive at 0800hrs Saturday 14 OCT 2017 , training begins at 0900 sharp until 1630 hrs. As a Speedball Tournament is occurring the same day it is suggested to arrive early.

2. Location: Marked Paintball, 13259 Highway 7, Carleton Place, Ontario. Staging area located at grid 18T VQ 02442 92349. Any additional directions to be provided by field staff.

3. Tasks: Morning will comprise of learning theory of navigation and communications. Practical execution of section level navigation, coms and patrolling will occur after lunch. Shooting will occur only in the afternoon.

4. Outfit: Team uniforms, military combat or private military contractor style.

5. Gear: Barrel bag required for all non-holstered weapons when in non-play areas for safety reasons, these will be available at the Pro Shop at additional cost if you do not have one. Other gear includes standard personal weaponry and equipment, eye protection. Bring a GPS unit if you have one and set coordinate settings to MGRS. Alternatively download a navigation app to your mobile device that is compatible with MGRS coordinates (Spyglass, Earthmate, etc).

SERVICE SUPPORT
6. Field Fee: $20 (17.70+HST). Pre-order via http://goo.gl/i6qVPH is strongly recommended as space is limited to 40 participants. If space is still available, payment can be made in cash, debit or credit on site. Pre-order to avoid disappointment of showing up with no space available. Please check in at the Pro Shop prior to making your way to the airsoft staging area.

7. Meals: Bring a lunch or one can be bought onsite for an additional cost. Snacks available at additional cost.

8. Transportation: If you require a ride or carpool, please contact a teammate. Parking is available on site at the main parking lot.

9. Weather: Bring adequate clothing for mid-October, light rain, cold. Training day will be postponed to Saturday 28 OCT 2017 in the event of extreme inclement weather and notice will be sent via Team Captains and Marked Twitter account @MarkedPainball the day before.

COMMAND AND SIGNALS
10. Radios: Bring a radio if you have one, programmed to standard two-way radio GMRS/FRS frequencies and headset if possible. Radio frequencies will be issued at field.

11. Range Control: Callsign “0” to maintain contact with Marked Staff and independent sections.

TIMELINE OF TRAINING EVENTS

Players are requested to show up early and confirm registration with Marked paintball staff, and to ensure they meet up with AIRSOFT event staff.

0900 to 0930 - Safety brief and introductions

0930 to 1030 - Radio protocols and Map and compass will start, players will be broken down into 2 large teams to accommodate these 2 class's.

1045 to 1145 - both teams will re-form and take part in basic patrolling/recce class to learn patrolling/recce techniques

1145 to 1230 - Lunch( advised that players bring a lunch, Marked does supply lunch, but at an additional charge)

1230 to 1700 - OP Navigant will start, with all players being broken down into equal teams. IF you are part of a team, it is suggested you work with your team, and any NON-Teamed players will be attached to ensure even numbers.

1. Each "section'' will have a section leader, and a 2ic who will be given their orders, relevant maps, compass, first navigational point.
2. Each team will use what they were taught to conduct recce's/radio use/ and navigation from and to each point.
3. Rules of engagements(ROE's) will be given out at the beginning, and may be subject to change to do the nature of the "volatile area".
4. Each section will have a staggered start of 5 mins, to ensure they are not congested leaving the admin area.
5. Their will be nav points throughout a 100 acre wooded area that will need to be located and recce'd, in order to find the next nav point.
6. Each section is allowed "1" Dedicated LMG for fire support during the patrols. Semi/FA are allowed for remaining rifle-men/ladies

Just a reminder that this event is limited to only 40 spots and is a great introduction to Radio use, navigation and patrolling techniques for new and veteran players. We will be operating on 100 Acres of thick wooded terrain and built up areas.

Hope to see some of you out their.
