Reminds me of why I stopped going to games in Quebec in my final couple years.

RE: S#*t Airsofters say
In my experience cheating is as common as people bailing on games last minute in Quebec. It used to be once in a blue moon an Ontario game would have noticeable cheating. When I stopped playing it seemed like it was every other game cheating popped up in Ontario games.

Out of probably over 50 games in Quebec I played over several years I can't think of a single one where cheating wasn't a huge problem (excluding private games.) And I can say with total confidence that the cheaters spoke French as a primary language 19/20 times cheating was an issue.

Gatineau is as good as the Ontario norm. When I say "Quebec games" I am referring to places at least an hour into Quebec, usually Montreal and the surrounding area.

Ottawa players have run into LOADS of problems with Quebec players and Quebec fields. From the crazy separatists that ran the Sniper Hunt games that tried to ban several players from all Quebec games for asking for a waiver in English to one guy trying to get me banned from ASC for cheating with a half dozen witnesses who would all confirm it was me at a game I didn't even attend.

Yes there are ass holes in every culture and location but it seems cheating in airsoft is a FAR more common occurrence in Quebec than Ontario.
One thing I found Ontario players to be FAR worse than Quebec players for was shooting dead people who are obviously showing a red flag.

You may be right, as i have not experienced games outside the Ottawa/Gatineau region. To be honest Montreal games never attracted me, they always appeared to be less accessible for the less experienced players on ASC. Even now, 2 years of playing later, i do not feel the need to try mtl fields.

its because they make it hard to play there.

as an anglo, if i ask a question in a quebec game thread im either chewed out for only speaking english, or completely ignored. in my experiance, quebec players outside of the ottawa valley, make it hard for anyone outside of the already existing comunity including new players, to join in and play as an anglo, with the exception of a few hosts like silverthorn and drake who make the effort to make their games bilingual. im sure its just as hard for a francophone to play here though, but some of us do try to help out with the language barrier.

as for cheating, ive noticed it being a problem everywhere, it can be a problem here, its a problem in quebec, its a problem in toronto, its a problem in BC, its a problem in the US. sadly, the unscrupulous are everywhere, and i dont see it as something that will go away. the only place i dont see it being a problem are places like nova scotia, newfieland, and PEI. as the comunities there probly ammount to a decent sized game here.

Quebec players will also try to "freeze" you (their version of surrender) when they're cornered in a little room, and you're outside with a grenade. Then yell at you for not accepting their freeze, cause they froze you, so their death and ringing ears don't count...but I did find that shooting them again shuts them up. Double tap. Only way to be sure.

As for people not calling their hits, I remember Lutnit, HaZaRd, and I (dead) watching a certain player at the LZ get hit...look around to see if anyone noticed...and then keep playing. It happens in both Ontario and Quebec. I'd say that Quebec players are a lot more angry and vulgar, but then I have to remember those guys from North Bay nearly starting a fist fight at the Mill, and being the cause of a certain Ontario player nearly breaking his legs and falling down a pit at the Mill.

Me too! Hilarious. It is a shame that it actually does happen a lot.
