Well the moderators need your help.

In a thread posted in the General AV section brought up, there is some "problems" with your classified sections. Well, maybe "problem" is a bit strong of a word for it.

The bottom line is these are your forums. To keep things organized and easy to follow OVA has had the long standing policy of keep conversations out of classifieds and bump your thread only once per week. This method hasn't really been an issue until recently.

We strive to be better than ASC, but the real question is what do you guys want. Do you want an ASC-like classified system where only the OP can post in the thread?

So the choice is yous Ottawa, time to vote.

If you want the conversation to be kept to PMs, this is the way to do it.

If people simply posted questions, then it would be acceptable. But that's never the case.

keep it to the OP and anyone with questions can email them or something. If people seem to be asking the same questions, then they can update the classified with the answer.

Just as an FYI; ASC copied how their classifieds function from CGN (Canadian Gun Nutz), they didn't come up with it themselves. I know you know that Chef but some others who aren't into real steel might not.

personally, I don't like the PM only for questions about stuff for sale, the seller doesn't always update the for sale post with the most accurate information, and sometimes it's useful to see discussion pertinent to the product being sold as it uncovers history and detail the seller might not have thought to put into the thread.

Leave the good, and moderate the junk out and leave it at that, it's not like there's 50 million FS threads every week.

It works for ASC, I'm fine with just PMs. I usually pm people directly rather then post questions on a thread anyways. Maybe sellers could bump with simple questions they've given answers to, similar to what ebay does.

I think ASC is bigger than us. since this is a small community, in my opinion its sometimes too strict here (like im almost scare to post something) which kills the mood and kills the forum. Random rants here and there on forums is what makes it fun and appealing.. but you get stop the minute you talk about something else that is not the original subject.... anyways!
My point is: I think it keep things alive to post questions about something on sale and i really dont understand why OVA would benefit on having sale threads jsut from the seller. Its not like we have 5 million members with 5 million selling post...

Just my opinion

why change something that has worked for years. We are not ASC this comunity was build for the players to be able to discuss things ask ?. I see this to often people freaking out on the new people.

Were talking about the classified section, not in general. Your right, too many people are jumping the noobs and we are looking at ways to change that. I have yet to see someone jump on someone else in the classifieds.
