I regularly had people swearing at me and telling me off for running such a high rate of fire since you don't shoot people 2-5 times but they are hit 10+ times in the same span of time. If you accidentally overshoot people after they call hit (because they are at long range so they are still getting hit when you stop firing because of travel time) they can get absolutely furious with you. Accidents also get a lot worse with really high rates of fire. An "oops, sorry, didn't mean to hit you in the face" turns into "oops, sorry, I didn't mean to rape your face into ground beef."

This. If you're using it to get back at cheaters (guys that up-mod/re-spring their guns) at OPP, that's one story. If you bring it out on the fields in Ottawa, you'd better have good control of your trigger finger...

Yeah i still havent tried a DSG set yet. That will be a project for next winter maybe.

my breif experiance with DSGs, they arent really gameable. you cant use anything but boxmags and highcaps when your up in the 20+rps area, when i had my 416 shooting in the 40rps area my mags couldent keep up, and were emptying 120 rounds in around 4 seconds, misfeeding every other shot. i had to use a highcap, or box mag wound near max constantly to keep up.

second, if your going to game it, its a different shooting style, you want to make small movements with your muzzle, no point in sending 40 bbs in a straight line, a cloud works better, also that way your not hitting somone 30 times in one spot after a burst.

third, have a pistol, anything within 20 feet, use the pistol or go to semi. at that distance even waving the barrel around like a mad man, your going to hit your target 20+ times, its more considerate to just pop em once. plus having a backup on you is handy for when you strip your piston, its going to happen.

30rnd STAR mags feed at 36rps Tongue

I only did it once for fun and it was kind of pointless. Each mag lasted 2 short bursts and then I had to reload.

RE: Seigetek gears
yea i shoot in strafes for long distances as you saw in the video of me shooting the box thats how i usually shoot. 5-10 round bursts in a cross.
One of the things that really worked out for me was the MAG drum mag. It feeds like crazy and its always fed every single shot flawlessly.
This gun isnt to get back at cheaters. Its just to give us the firepower we need to take the MOUT site. Its a crazy mess and we've been outnumbered for the past 3 events. I dont need this gun for anything else really. Ive got a nice AK and M4 that I use for local games within the limits that run on 7.4V lipos.
I wanted to post this up to show what's possible. I hope this shows you what can be done with an AEG and its good to always be up to date. There are new designs and parts coming in all the time as airsoft is evolving. I guess i didnt really follow the beginning topic (seigetek gears) but when/if the SHS gears break ill be getting a set of those and doing a full review

RE: Seigetek gears
pmags feed at 25rps. JG highcaps start out at around 50rps when fully wound, but slow down to about 15rps as it winds down, same goes for D-boys M4 box mags.

star pmags feed at around 25 rps as well. same with the Emags, and king arms 68rnd feed at roughly 21 rps.

oh and another thought, liquid. i dont know if its the same this year, last year, they werent allowing RPKs or Mg36s that were still able to fire in semi, some bullshit about being tempted to use them in buildings, remove your cutoff lever and problem is solved.

120rnd mags are damn good to have for your standard loadout. I usually keep 1-2 hicaps on hand as well for those quick games or when I run out of ammo and need to play on my way back to staging

I couldn't agree more with this. 120 rounds is just about the perfect number for a magazine size. Enough that you can get a good fight out of em and get a few kills without resorting to a hicap rattling.

Yup, definitely. Most skirmish days all my mags are 120-round jobs.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
