Help with KA M4A1 disassembly
I've been trying to open my king arms m4a1 but I've encountered a problem. When trying to separate the upper part of the body from the lower receiver, it won't move. Without forcing too much, I've tried lifting it off and sliding it off. Sliding it allows it to budge a little, but it still locks where as lifting it won't move anything.

I've taken off the stock, the push pin for the mag, handguard and both lower receiver pins.

I've been following this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZBGyMQ6lK0

KA? Hmm... Im pretty sure that if you move it forward a bit and pull the mechbox out with the upper you can then slide the upper off the mechbox..

Try pulling your charging handle back, I have to do that with mine, it's not a KA but hopefully it helps

Sounds complicated compared to a TM. I read that most M4's we're modeled similarly to those of TM?

Also would you know if KA M4A1 has this feature at 2:25 ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UB_ariiFs...re=related )?

Thanks

@Tiger

This may sounds noobish haha, but you mean the thing that allows you to access the hop up? Also, what manufacturer/model do you have?

mine is like tigers, have to pull the charging handle (yes the thing that lets you access the hop up) out and up before the upper will slide completely off. mine is just a cheap china receiver.

I know that mine will not fold I have a mag pull upper and lower set, I have slide both receiver halves apart before I have access to my mech box

RE: Help with KA M4A1 disassembly
I've gotten to the part where I'm trying to take out the gear box. Thought this would be the easiest part, I was wrong haha. The bolt release lever seems to be in the way. Any tips?

I've been encountering problems regarding my motor when I'm trying to assemble it back into the grip. Is it normal that there is a noticeable resistance when trying to put on the lid?

RE: Help with KA M4A1 disassembly
Is this what you consider the "lid"?
(FYI: It's a "grip end" or "motor plate")

If so, there should be some resistance as the motor is spring loaded to push against the motor plate to prevent shifting. Beyond that, it depends on your definition of "significant resistance". You should be able to press the motor in and have it push back out, it should not stick at all inside the grip. If it does, you've probably not run the wires properly around the motor and they're pressing against the side of the motor.

If the motor moves freely and you still have to really push hard to get the grip end on, your motor plate could be adjusted too tight - loosen it off and see if it's easier to get the grip end on. If that works though, you'll have to readjust it properly or you could damage your gears / motor as the pinion won't be properly seated.

Yea I guess it would be hard to describe, but i feel like I have to force the motor plate (thank you) on. At the moment, the motor is stuck in the grip and I'm trying to wiggle it out...lol. I think you are right regarding the placement of the wires. What would be the best position for the wires? Also, is there a grip that has a larger housing?

RE: Help with KA M4A1 disassembly
Why do you need a new motor?

As long as you stay with a trusted brand and not some cheap knockoff brand you would be better served by saying what you want out of the motor replacement (higher RoF, more torque for a heavier spring, etc.). That'll give people a better idea of which motor to suggest.
