RE: M4 RIS wiggle Arrgghh
try tightening up the D-Ring. of that doesnt work, then your SOL, its a pretty common problem with airsoft armalites.

Tighten the Delta ring, like chef said.
If is still loose you will have to shim the outer barrel.

I'm not sure what the SOL is.
I had everything put back together and was nice and tight,
Then when I went to test fire it I couldn't get the mag in.
The nozzle in the inside was misaligned.

At closer inspection the barrel itself wiggles from side to side turning the nozzle.
Ive tried tightening things back up with the mag installed but then I'm left with the original wiggle, Its driving me crazy right now trying to fix it.

There is a little tiny allen screw holding the barrel in, Is that suppose to be tight or
loose and stick up a bit ? Nothing I can do right now can stop the barrel from turning.

RE: M4 RIS wiggle Arrgghh
Shimming the barrel is adding really thin spacers between the outer barrel and receiver so the delta ring can tighten it down fully. Sometimes at full tightness there is still wiggle room for the outer barrel to move but shims close the gap. I'm not sure where to get them; I always got mine with other AEG's and just collected them (all gone though.)

RE: M4 RIS wiggle Arrgghh
I got everything back together nice and tight, no wiggles, mags loads smoothly as before. thank god I bought one of those M4 nut tools last week, I bought it for tightening the castle nut on the stock, I would have boned tonight without it tightening the delta ring. That seemed to be the problem. The barrel set screw was also loose.

The only difference I'm unsure about is :
The outer part of the delta ring that locks onto the RIS doesn't quite go on as far as before, 3 bands of threads showing. That shouldn't be a problem should it ?
I don't want to lessen it's strength. everything is nice and tight and working great so I didn't want to try and start over. If that outer ring absolutely has to be threaded on all the way, please let me know!

Your ring should be just fine. When in doubt keep with simple observations like if it aint broke dont fix it lol. As long as there is postive engaugement between the RIS and retaining ring and everything is feeling solid, you should be good to go.
