Arnie just a thought but if numbers look good, Perhaps we could look at teaming a young new player up with a vet in a mentor/fireteam partner role. Would really help instill some rule and safety guidelines as well as teach the younger players how to roll. THoughts?

Awesome idea.

Be easy to run a small section of new guys and show them how to move and set up ambushes and attacks. The more new young guys the better only need a few vets out to lead em.

Will players under 18 years old like myself need full face protection? Or will goggles do the trick?

Unless I can get a ride out there, I'm not sure if I can go.

Full sealed goggles or full face mask.

I should be able to go... I need to see if I can get a ride. That's the only problem.

Don't feel bad. A lot of people have no talent.

My signup can be counted as two - me and my son. I'll need a rental for him on the day, and the smaller/lighter the better.

He's young but he's real keen, and back to critter's idea I do intend to shadow him the entire time...to keep him out of trouble, and to make sure things stay fair. (To make sure he doesn't get lit up at close range, mostly.)

Whether I'm playing or wearing an orange vest can be decided on the day, I'm good either way.

Well the goal to have more knowing players to partner up with the young guys is two fold. One to cover there six and teach them how to move in a teamwork enviroment and protect themselves. As well as letting parents who come along who are interested can play along side their kids and enjoy the experience instead of feeling like combat babysitting lol

I'd start a thread in the Convoy section, but it's only for age-verified - so I'll put it here:

Right now I've got one seat available, leaving Nepean (near Merivale & Hunt Club) at 9AM. It might open up to two seats closer to game day.

You can bring just about as much gear as you like, gas fee will be $20 which I believe is the norm for Petawawa. Preference given to those that are close by or who can get to me.

For those new to this, you won't wear your camo/etc on the way to the field - especially as we're going to Petawawa and impersonating military folk isn't looked upon well. (This also works well as you won't be wearing your dirty/smelly BDU's/boots/etc in my truck on the way back!) By the same token, if you have a gun to bring it had better be in a case or gun bag for transport.

Not really. If you could arrange to get here for 9AM, that would save a lot of travel time. (It's farther back to the highway from there as well.)

I made this public to clarify my definition of 'close'...after this let's take it to PM's.
